ENGINEERING INGEGNERIA INFORMATICA SPA organizes the free DATA ENGINEERING HACKATHON between February-May 2023. At the end of the hackathon, the participants who will stand out will have the opportunity to work in the field of Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Theme
The main themes of the hackathon include technologies and concepts that are used both in Salesforce and Tableau applications.
Background
The aim of the hackathon is to introduce the fundamentals of Salesforce and Tableau. The participants will attend four learning lessons, and at the end of them there will be held a challenge which will test the knowledge acquired by students.
The four preparatory lessons will be available on the talent.nextlab.tech platform and will be completed with the help of a learning assistant. During the lessons, participants will be introduced to the theoretical elements of Salesforce, so they can put into practice the studied elements by using practical exercise methods . Each week participants will go through one lesson and at the end, they will have 2 weeks to prepare for the challenge.

The hackathon is open to undergraduate and master’s students from any university that want to have a studying opportunity in a professional environment. Online registration is available at talent.nextlab.tech and those without an existing account can create one using the provided link.

Requirements
Students who are accepted to the hackathon must meet the following requirements:
- have knowledge of databases
- knowledge of programming basics
- be fluent in English, knowledge of Italian language is an advantage
- be interested in a career in the field

What is a hackathon? What is a pitch?
A hackathon is an intense learning session during which students have to respond to a challenge. Hackathons on the talent.nextlab.tech platform are preceded by several preparatory lessons that help students to respond to the challenge. Students who solve the challenge will gain valuable knowledge for the job market. The company organizing the hackathon might hire some of them.
Solving the challenge will be demonstrated using a video pitch and possibly computer applications or other digital materials. A video pitch is a video of maximum 2 minutes in which participants present their achievements. Pitches will be judged both in terms of the content that relates to the challenge and the digital storytelling ability that the hackathonists demonstrate. We recommend visiting the Students section to learn some tips on how to make a quality pitch.
